“Architektur der Archive” (Architecture Of Archives) is a photographic journey through the archive world of Berlin. In 77 days I visited 29 different institutions with various collection focuses—like animal voices, photography of the GDR, German movies, technological and industrial history, paintings or costumes. All photos were shot on analogue film—this medium also reflects the analogue status of every collected item. Even though there is a huge amount of digitalised data the analogue object is still the most important for the archivists.
“Architektur der Archive” was my master thesis in European Media Studies at University of Potsdam.
